1. Connector for controlled series:
Always fit the gas struts with the rod/piston pointing down, this ensures the seals remain lubricated. Fitting the gas struts with the piston at the top will dramatically reduce the life of the gas struts. The gas struts should be fitted in line, misalignment can lead to side forces which reduce the life of the gas struts. Where gas struts are working in a pair, it is recommended that both are replaced.Variations in pressure can result in side loading which will result in early failure of the gas struts. The end fittings are screwed on tightly, To align the end fittings, twist the piston rod, do not undo the end fittings.
